Overview

Damaged threads and worn connections can take valuable tubulars out of service. Mersal Group inspects and repairs Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) so that casing, tubing and their accessories can be safely reused.

Connections are re-cut on dedicated threading machines and verified with calibrated gauges, giving operators a cost-effective alternative to buying new pipe.

Scope of work
Thread inspection
Visual and gauge inspection of pin and box connections to identify damage and wear.
Re-threading
Cutting back and re-threading casing and tubing ends to API connection standards.
Coupling replacement
Removal, supply and make-up of new couplings to the specified torque.
Pup joints & crossovers
Manufacture and repair of pup joints and crossovers to match your string.
Tubular end repair
Facing, chamfering and end preparation of tubulars ahead of threading.

How we work
Receiving & incoming inspection
Each item is logged, cleaned and photographed on arrival. We review its service history, previous certificates and the scope agreed with you.
Disassembly & assessment
Full strip-down followed by visual, dimensional and NDT inspection to locate wear, cracks, erosion and corrosion. You receive a findings report with the recommended work.
Repair & replacement
After your approval we carry out machining, weld repair or part replacement using traceable materials and OEM-equivalent spares.
Assembly & testing
Components are reassembled to the manufacturer's fits and torque values, then function and pressure tested.
Documentation & delivery
Equipment is returned with inspection reports, test charts and a certificate of conformance, ready to go back into service.
