BOP Recertification

Inspection, repair and recertification of blowout preventers and the well control equipment around them, so your stack is safe, compliant and ready for the next well.

Overview

A blowout preventer is the last line of defence on any rig. Mersal Group strips, inspects, repairs and recertifies ram and annular BOPs together with the closing units, manifolds and hoses that complete the well control system.

Our team works to the original equipment specifications and the applicable API standards, replacing worn sealing elements and restoring critical dimensions so each unit leaves our workshop fully tested and documented.

Scope of work

Ram & annular BOPs
Complete overhaul of ram-type and annular preventers, including bore, seal-area and ram cavity inspection and repair.

How we work

Receiving & incoming inspection
Each item is logged, cleaned and photographed on arrival. We review its service history, previous certificates and the scope agreed with you.
Disassembly & assessment
Full strip-down followed by visual, dimensional and NDT inspection to locate wear, cracks, erosion and corrosion. You receive a findings report with the recommended work.
Repair & replacement
After your approval we carry out machining, weld repair or part replacement using traceable materials and OEM-equivalent spares.
Assembly & testing
Components are reassembled to the manufacturer's fits and torque values, then function and pressure tested.
Documentation & delivery
Equipment is returned with inspection reports, test charts and a certificate of conformance, ready to go back into service.
