Pressure Testing

Controlled hydrostatic testing of pressure-containing equipment, with recorded results for every test.

Overview

Pressure testing proves that equipment can safely contain its rated working pressure. Mersal Group tests valves, BOPs, manifolds, hoses and wellhead equipment in a controlled test area, following the procedure required by the relevant standard or your own specification.

Each test is recorded with chart or digital data, so you receive clear evidence of the result alongside the equipment.

Scope of work

Valves & wellhead equipment
Body and seat tests for gate valves, chokes, wellheads and tree components.
Well control equipment
Low and high pressure tests for BOPs, manifolds and choke and kill hoses.
Customer-supplied items
Testing of equipment repaired or supplied by others.
Recorded results
Test pressure and hold time recorded on chart or digital logger.

How we work

Test plan
Test pressures, hold times and acceptance criteria are agreed in advance.
Set-up
Equipment is rigged up in the test area with calibrated gauges and recorders.
Low pressure test
A low pressure test confirms seal integrity before full pressure is applied.
High pressure hold
Pressure is raised to the test value and held for the required time.
Reporting
Results are reviewed and issued with the test record.
